Ecochlor has launched a plant for the production of chlorine dioxide generators for its ballast water (product recommended) treatment system (BWMS) in North Haven, Connecticut.

Due to the surge in orders, Ecochlor's manufacturing partner ProFlow, Inc. will rapidly increase productivity and efficiency by adopting lean manufacturing processes and maintaining ISO 9001 certification. ProFlow's production site has exceeded 30,000 square feet and the new facility will be dedicated to producing generators.

Since 2001, ProFlow has been manufacturing Ecochlor's ballast water treatment system generators. According to Kurt Uihlein, president of ProFlow, “Because the company has witnessed an increase in orders from Ecochlor in the past year, the company’s production has increased to meet high demand. Thanks to this new plant, the company will be able to customize from one time. Delivery to mass production assembly units. In addition, to accelerate delivery, the company has established inventory of parts and semi-finished products. These changes in the company's production process will help the company reduce manufacturing time by more than 25%, while also increasing the company's productivity."

In addition, the production site and new assembly procedures have helped Ecochlor expand to deliver more than 200 ballast water treatment systems per year. This new assembly plant can produce a generator in a production unit in about 2-3 days. After completing the factory acceptance test (FAT) T unit, it will help multiple generators to test at the same time. The location of the plant is strategically chosen as it is located close to the Ecochlor plant office and ProFlow's additional generator semi-finished production facility.
