The engineering ship giant ordered two water dredgers

The Dutch shipping company Van Oord, which specializes in dredging, offshore engineering and offshore projects, recently ordered two Water Injection Dredgers at the Kooiman Marine Group, the first of which will be operational by the end of 2020.

Van Oord is the world leader in the waterinjection dredging market. To consolidate this position, Van Oord decided to expand the fleet and build two new sprinklers.

Van Oord said: "The new generation of ships is versatile, with water dredging, large-scale flow and power injection systems. Technology development has also been applied, such as lifting compensation and dynamic positioning, which means that dredging can be pre-programmed because of maneuvering Sex and draught are very limited and these vessels are ideal for shallow water ports for maintenance and dredging."

In the design process, the energy efficiency management of the two ships received special attention. The new sprinkler will be equipped with a hybrid energy management system. Therefore, the ship can store the energy in the waste heat of the waste in the battery and then use it to propel the system and the like, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The new vessel meets IMO Tier III regulations to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide emissions and takes into account EU STAGE V regulations.
