Another Polar Adventure Cruise Order ~ Lindblad made in Ulstein

Lindblad Expedition Holdings, an American expedition cruise company, recently signed an agreement with Norwegian shipbuilding and design company Ulstein to build a new polar expedition ship.

The new vessel is expected to be delivered by the end of the third quarter of 2021 and will be the fourth of the National Geographic polar fleet in Lindblad.

Currently, the US fleet in the National Geographic "National Geographic Quest" has been delivered in July 2017, the second ship "National Geographic Ventur" also in December 2018 delivery. The two Polar Adventure Cruises were built by the US Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (NBBB) shipyard.

The third National Geographic Polar Adventure Cruise "National Geographic Endurance" is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2020. It will be designed and built by Ulstein in the same way as the newly-built fourth. In 2017, Lindblad signed a new shipbuilding contract with Ulstein for 1+2 polar cruises.

Similar to the National Geographic Endurance, the new Polar Adventures can carry 126 passengers and will have a passenger ship's highest ice-level symbol to ensure that the ship can sail deeper into the polar regions. The vessel will use Ulstein's iconic X-BOW bow to improve fuel efficiency, reduce environmental impact and greatly improve passenger comfort in rough sea conditions.
